The WACKY UK Dog Surfing Championships is
coming BACK to Branksome Beach - Summer July 2026!
A ONE-OF-A-KIND EVENT.
The brainchild of Mark Reeves, founder of Shaka Surf Branksome, the UK Dog Surfing Championships has grown from a fun, wacky beach idea into one of the country’s most talked-about surf and beach festivals.
Now in its 5th year, over 30+ dogs and their humans hit the waves to battle it out for the title of UK Dog Surfing Champion of the Year — combining surfing, fancy dress, beach vibes and plenty of tail-wagging chaos.
What started as a local community event has exploded into a tourist and media sensation, attracting national and international TV, radio, and press coverage to the stunning Branksome Dene Chine Beach in Dorset.
And it just keeps getting bigger.Last year alone the event achieved an incredible 53 million media reach, with videos going viral around the world.
In 2025, the competition made history when an official Guinness World Records adjudicator attended — and together we smashed three World Records:
🏆 Most dogs surfing a wave on one board – 12
🏆 Fastest dog & human paddleboard race over 50m
🏆 Most dogs competing in a single world record paddle attempt
