The WACKY UK Dog Surfing Championships is BACK
AT Branksome DENE Beach, DORSET
A ONE-OF-A-KIND EVENT.
The brainchild of Mark Reeves, founder of Shaka Surf Branksome, the UK Dog Surfing Championships has grown from a fun, wacky beach idea into one of the country’s most talked-about surf and beach festivals.
Now in its 7th year, 20 dogs and their humans hit the waves to battle it out for the title of UK Dog Surfing Champion of the Year — combining surfing, fancy dress, beach vibes and plenty of tail-wagging chaos.
What started as a local community event has exploded into a tourist and media sensation, attracting national and international TV, radio, and press coverage to the stunning Branksome Dene Chine Beach in Dorset.
And it just keeps getting bigger.
In 2025 alone, the event reached an incredible 53 million media globally, with videos going viral.
The competition also made history when an official Guinness World Records adjudicator attended — and together we smashed THREE WORLD RECORDS:
🏆 Most dogs surfing a wave on one board - 12!
🏆 Fastest dog & human paddleboard race over 50m
🏆 Most dogs competing in a single world record paddle attempt.

A DAY FULL OF MAD FUN.
The hilarious race is run like a proper surf comp with heats throughout the day.
A jam-packed day of fun in the sun for:
20+ competitors (and their humans)
Hundreds of spectators of all ages
And a tonne of spectator pooches.
To top it off, there’s an awards ceremony on our Centre Stage for the Champions.
Add to the mix, local celebrity comperes Martyn The Hat and his wife Sarah from Middleman Entertainment ...and it’s a laugh a minute!

Dog Masters Festival is set on one of the UK’s most beautiful sandy beaches in Poole Bay, Dorset: Branksome Dene Beach is part of a 9.5-mile continuous strip of golden beaches that run from Sandbanks to Hengistbury Head via Bournemouth.
Only 2 hours by train or car from London.
30 minutes walk to Bournemouth.
